This is taken from Blonde Redhead's new album – their 9th in total - Barragán (which means 'warrior' in ancient Spanish) and was released yesterday. It’s their first since 2010's Penny Sparkle and was produced by Beck and Radiohead affiliate Drew Brown; a man very well versed in the chamber-pop sound this band are looking for. The album a fair old way from their 70s no-wave beginnings in New York and the jazz they studied in Boston is taking root more and more. Trio Kazu Makino, Amedeo Pace and Simone Pace play London / Islington’s Assembly Hall on 29th September.
