MEMORY TAPES: 3RD AUGUST 2012

This week's Memory Tape is, as usual, the story between a boy and a girl. That story is told by Pam in Edinburgh...

"My husband Laubscher and I grew up in South Africa, and started dating when we were 17 in 1998. He was always making me tapes, especially when I came over to Scotland for a year after school. Having fallen in love with Edinburgh, I eventually got him to move over here with me a few years ago.

"My mother asked me (the youngest of 3) not to leave too much stuff behind for her to store and in a fit of madness I threw out all my old tapes, including those my lovely man had made me. Over the years I have come to regret this insanity, as you can imagine! So picture my joy when we were home in April for a few weeks and I was sorting out some old stuff and came across one sneaky survivor, cover intact but with no track listing!

"I couldn't wait to get it to a tape player and have a listen. Now, I have to admit it doesn't really reflect my current music taste, but it is a delicious slice of late 90s-ness and every song does have good memories attached."
