MEMORY TAPES: 5TH AUGUST 2011

This week's Memory Tapes comes from Claire Dyer and is a mix made for parents; something we don't get much of on the feature.

Claire writes...

"I've been making mix tapes since I was a kid, my latest is this one I made for my mom as a memento of her and my dad's 40th wedding anniversary.

"We had a big party and together we pulled out all our old records, tapes, CDs and mp3s and made a wicked playlist of all the songs that meant something to them over the years - songs that reminded them of each other, me and my brother, and other family members and friends (and including a sneaky song I wrote).

"I stuck them all on my dad's ipod and that was our playlist for the night. Whereas my dad can listen to that anytime, my mom's only got a built-in cassette player in her car so I made her a tape as a memory of an amazing night and life together."
