SET LIST

Post categories:

Tom Assistant Producer|17:44 UK time, Monday, 19 April 2010

Here is another instalment of The Sunday Service set lists. On this weeks show Jarvis delves deep into his record bag pulling out some wonderful beauties from the likes of Serena Maneesh, Howlin' Wolf and Vincent Gallo.

Of course, Sunday's wouldn't be the same without some spoken work and this week Jarvis reads an extract from The 17 by Bill Drummond.

    Thank You soo much for putting this out (again!).I see Jarvis's scribbles are getting more and more interesting. Well, really enjoyed the show, but I'm sad it won't be Jarvis next week, though I am sure Richard Hawley will do a good job, even if there of course is only one Jarvis Cocker and you can't just "replace" him ! Will miss Jarvis on Sunday but am giving Richard Hawley a warm welcome and look forward to Jarvis's return on the following Sunday. XXX

    Sorry,that should of course be "sad it won't be Jarvis THIS week"! I'm just a bit confused as I listened to the show again today and kind of got a bit of a "Sunday feeling" ! Sorry! x

    Found this video with Richard Hawley doing "Valentine", which I think Jarvis played on his special Valentine's Sunday Service;

    'Ja tvoi sluga, ja tvoi Rabotnik' (I'm your slave, I'm your worker) by Kraftwerk.
    lovely! :) their pronunciation is soooo adorable.

    by the way, I enjoy listening to songs by Richard Hawley on occasion. I have no doubt that next Sunday Service will be full of amazingly beautiful music and interesting stories. no doubt.

    seems this Sunday Service I listen to tenth [or eleventh] times. think it's a very good sign of quality. thanks.

    mmmm ... Judy... I'd like to hear her BlackBird on 6Music once again.

    Same here...don't know how many times I've listened to it in the "background" whilst cleaning the house and sorting my children...really enjoy it! And yes, despite the fact that I'll miss Jarvis I am actually really looking forward to hear what Richard Hawley "&Co" will serve up for us this Sunday! Just hope Jarvis managed to get to where he was going and will be back in time for his show on the 2nd of May, what with all this "volcano thing" going on....
