EKKAH are the latest BBC Introducing act to be selected for our sought after weekly spot on the Radio 1 playlist. Their track “Last Chance To Dance” (which you can listen to in full below) will receive plays from Fearne, Greg and Scott. Find out more about this female duo from Birmingham and let us know what you make of the track in the comments section at the bottom.
Hometown: Birmingham
Style: Their influences range from Flying Lotus to Pharrell to MGMT, but what EKKAH do best is their own modern blend of disco and soul. Impressing Introducing teams in West Midlands from their first demo, the duo are sensibly building their live circuit alongside their songs to ensure they sound just as great live as in headphones. For fans of Jessie Ware, Metronomy and Jungle.
You Need To Know: They’ve already spent this year introducing themselves to the UK festival circuit and have supported Jess Glynne on tour. With plans for more songs to be written and recorded and an already busy touring schedule for the start of the year, they are a hotly tipped emerging artist.
Supported by:BBC Introducing in the West Midlands.
