Hometown: London

Style: Haunting electro-beats brought to life with female folk vocals has never sounded better. The perfect balance of a soothing ballad meets synths and keys allows this act to create a striking impression in today’s increasingly busy landscape of new music. First uploaded to BBC Introducing in London three months ago, “Bones” was an instant choice for airplay and was put forward for the Radio 1 playlist, which they join this week. For fans of Grimes, Jessie Ware and Rae Morris.

You Need To Know: Cash+David first released music in February 2014, choosing to remain anonymous and stirring the online music community into mild hysteria as they fought to speculate who this act could really be. Tim Ross and Liz Lawrence have assumed the roles of Cash and David respectively, which also correlates to the guitar legends Johnny Cash + David Bowie. Lawrence has also honed her vocals through her folk career, which has seen her sing alongside Bombay Bicycle Club on their world tour. “Bones” their first single, was released just before Christmas and we’re looking forward to more from this London duo.
