Essential: Alicai Harley's dancehall pop is taking the world by storm! Hailing from Jamaica, but now based in London, she first uploaded to BBC Music Introducing in London in March 2017. Alicai describes her style as a blend of R&B, hip hop, dancehall and grime which she calls “grime & blues”. After being championed by Seani B and Sian Anderson, and with our Introducing support, her infections track 'Gold' was made Introducing track of the week on 1Xtra last year and now, she's back with 'Killa' produced by The Fanatix. She also performed at our Introducing Roundhouse Rising showcase back in January and is joining Mahalia, ONR and Ten Tonnes on our Introducing UK tour as part of The Biggest Weekend Fringe Tour.

Essential: Laughta is a grime MC from London who first uploaded to Introducing in 2017. Her track ‘Pree My Ting’ turned a lot of heads in 2017 and is produced by Jammer and on 'Flex' she joins forces with Double S and Manga. Laughta is inspired by her Nigerian and Lebanese cultural background and draws influence from So Solid, Missy Elliot, Ms Dynamite and Wiley.
