Hometown: Nottingham

Style: Bringing some retro electro-indie, check out what happens when a duo inspired by Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem and The Beatles start making music. Hoping to inspire others with their thoughtful, danceable tunes created by the two writing individually; Alex sending over an initial vocal melody and Charlie creating a basic drumbeat to accompany. And it’s not just us that love their style – they’ve already performed support slots for the likes of Indiana and Tove Lo. For fans of M83 and CHVRCHES.

You Need To Know: Starting out in a band whilst studying at the University of Nottingham, Alex & Charlie became April Towers in August 2013. The BBC Introducing in East Midlands team were so impressed with their music they supported the boys heavily, bringing them forward as one of three tips for Huw Stephens and his listeners on Radio 1 to keep an eye out for. They’ve impressed the blogs, they’ve performed as part of some very cool line-ups across the UK and they’ve even dabbled in producing some quality remixes.
