Introducing online producer

All this week you'll be hearing Lauren Aquilina's track Fools being played across BBC Radio 1. It was on Sara Cox's show this morning and will also be played by the likes of Greg James, Scott Mills and Dev later this week thanks to being the BBC Introducing track on the Radio 1 playlist. Have a listen to Fools below and leave your comments at the foot of the page.

Hometown: Lauren is a 17 year-old singer songwriter from Bristol.

Style: Fools is the title track from her debut EP. It's pop-folk that matches the charm of Lauren's voice up against lingering and, at times, pretty haunting soundscapes. Like Ellie Goulding, Lauren punches emotion right through the heart of her tracks in a really convincing way.

You need to know: Lauren's father is originally from Malta and she's wasted no time in cracking the charts in her other home country. Pre-orders of the Fools EP saw Lauren reach No.1 in the iTunes chart there.

Supported by: BBC Introducing in the West have long supported Lauren's sound, playing Fools in October last year. They then passed it onto Jen Long and Ally McCrae at Radio 1 and Tom Robinson at 6 Music
