Film 2006 with Huw Stephens
I don't remember the last time I went on holiday with my parents, and so this weekend we went to visit my girlfriend in Belgium. She lives in Brussels, it was really nice, and we ate a lot of steak.
We also saw two films - The Wind That Shakes the Barley about the troubles in Ireland in the 1920's which is directed by Ken Loach, and is a brilliant film which shows the horrible realities of war and how it affects everything in life, and made me wish I knew my history better.
The other film was about the Moroccans and Algerians who fought for France in the second world war, and the prejudices and strife that came with it. Again, a superb film, great acting and in French. Which meant I didn't understand all the details, but enjoyed it all the same.
What's that? This is a music blog and not a film one? Well, in that case...
