Well well, we're up and on air - every Wednesday night 12pm till 2am - and the first show was a lot of fun. Quite mad really to think that 99.9% of the music on the show is not released - it's all new demos and mp3's that the bands we featured play live and most of it is available from their websites.

With time (next week with a bit of luck), the Tracklisting on my homepage will have links to all the artists featured. For now, here's where to find out more about the music on the first show. Do get in touch with them, I'm sure they'd love feedback and signs of love and appreciation!

So the new schedule has kicked off, and my new show is on tomorrow night. lookin forward to hearing the sesison the Bobby McGee's have recorded for the show - they're a very special band, so be prepared to fall in love!

Right now I'm off to North Wales, quite literally a day trip to bangor, to do some interviews for a Welsh music show I present on S4C. I'm interviewing three producers - David Wrench, Gorwel Owen and Les Morrison - should be very interesting indeed!

Had a weekend at home shifting through hundreds of demos - so much good music in there, a lot of which will make the new show on a Wednesday night now - the demos closest to the computer right now are; 35 Seconds , and Idiot Savant

Right, have a good Tuesday

I've met him once, interviewed him behond a news desk for S4C bizarely. I actually get a bit of post with Edwards instead of Stephens on it.

Hang on - maybe that new Mugstar and Isis albums were meant for him?

Been travelling these past few days. Here is a lift of stuff I've done:

Saw Los Campesinos live. They are great, they're gonna be greater, they have killer tunes and an Irish pub worth of energy. They'll be in session on my new show, in two weeks time...

Djd at the Freshers ball in Leeds uni, and had a brilliant time playing tunes by Peter Bjorn and John, Holloways, J5, the aforementioned Los Camp, Pulp and loads more. It was sweaty, hot and brilliant, with resident djs Hazey Dave and Chris Martin mixing it up like bastards. Check their Tunnel club night every Tuesday in Leeds

Enjoyed the monster new Mugstar album, which is every bit as offensive you want it to be.

Saw Bradley from SClub 7 walk down the street and nearly went up to him to congratulate him on the Seeing Double film

Saw the wicked Beastie Boys dvd where they gave the audience 50 camcorders to film a gig in nyc.

Celebrated my mate Bazs wedding to the lovely Debbie with a party in Cardiff with Akira the Don, bravecaptan and Zabrinksi playing. Wedding is in two weeks and I'm nervous bout the speech. O god.

and got ready for tonights show, the last onemusic show for me, before the new show starts next wednesday. its gonna be a good un tonight, with highlights from the best session tracks from the last year and a half

lots of tuesday love

Tonight the OneMusic show has got two live sets from this years Green Man festival from two very talented Welshmen. They are Euros Childs (from Gorky's Zygotic Mynci who finished as a band earlier this year) and Gruff Rhys (from the very much still going Super Furry Animals). Both their sets from the festival were a lot of fun and sounded great, and you can hear great big chunks of the sets tonight.

Both of them have new solo albums on the way too.

Also tonight, more new unsigned music, and a lot of other new tunes. Between 11pm and 1am.

Lots of Tuesday love

And it was a corker!...

My first year there, and the sun was shining all weekend. Me and my mate Tom who was doing sound for the Pipettes set off on Friday morning, shared a train with DJ Derek, had fun putting up the tent in the wind, and got very drunk. I saw and heard the groovy Shitdisco, the dark iliketrains, the tapdancing Tilly and the Wall, the brilliant Brakes who have new songs that are genius - Pineapple or Porcupine? being a highlight), Get Cape who rocked the Big Top, The Fall who were on top form - the man himself was on fine form, and Misty's big Adventure, who were just perfect. Found out the big beast dancing onstage is called Erotic Volvo. i like em even more now....

On Saturday i was djing between the bands at the Rock 'n' Roll tent, which was fun. lots of half hour mini-sets playing proper rockn roll and a few modern day guitar hits. the Anthems were brought out later on at night - and I very much enjoyed sets by Metronomy (who'll be touring with Get Cape soon) who were awesome, Kanda Bongo Man which was a highlight, Noisettes, the irresistable Pipettes who i hadnt see play since last Christmas, and the Isle of Wight's very own Bees...

I caught one Pet Shop Boys song, a lot of the wonderful Vetiver, and got a train home on Sunday. The whole experience - the ferry, the food, the folk, is so good - it really is a lot of fun, unlike any other festival. Nice one Mr and Mrs Da Bank!

and now I have a nasty cold after a summer of festivals.

Get Cape n Bestival!

Huw StephensHuw Stephens|15:39 UK time, Tuesday, 5 September 2006

Hooray!

Can't wait for Bestival this weekend. Never been before, really looking forward. I'll be spinning tunes on the wheels of plastic on Saturday at the Rock n Roll tent - the line-up is great - intruiged to see Grizzly Bear playing, amongst a whole lot more...

Tonight on the show its the mighty Get Cape in session. Everytime I've seen him play live he's amazed me. Politically aware and pro active, melodic and personal, powerful and impressive, Sam deserves his success. Tune in tonight to hear his new session for the show.

Been listening to Oneida's new album, confusingly titled Happy New Year (it comes out 9th Ocotber). It's phenomenal too - rushed and crammed with ideas yet quite sparse and lush at times. Brilliant.

Spank Rocking to Swipe....

Blog comments are currently unavailable. Find out more.

Huw StephensHuw Stephens|02:06 UK time, Saturday, 2 September 2006

Went to see Spank Rock last night. The dj was one angry man prior to finding his record needle. The music made me bounce, but not as much as their first mixtape I bought in Aberystwyth last year.

Tonight I went to see Swipe play a boling hot gig in Cardiff city centre. James Chant is their frontman, and they have some ace pop tunes. You'll be hearing loads more about Swipe, guaranteed...

a scramble to pack records for Macs fest tomorrow in Carmarthen now. I'm looking forward to seeing Swci Boscawen, Euros Childs, breakbeat Dj;s NAPT, Nicky Wire, Automatic, Crimea and Texas Radio Band - possibly the most underrated unsigned band in the world right now. BBC Weather promises rain.

Can't wait:)
