Someone moved my car...

Greg James|11:40 UK time, Monday, 20 June 2011

I woke up yesterday morning, opened the blinds and a market had taken over my road. As far as I could see, dress stalls, jewellery, handbags..You know the sort of thing. It was an attempt to make London seem more like a village, which I didn't mind except that the road was closed all day.

I parked my car outside my flat on Friday afternoon. I didn't use it all weekend until I needed to get to cricket yesterday afternoon. I went outside to where I parked my car, looked around and it had been replaced by a fruit and veg stall.

GONE. I asked the owner of the stall. 'No idea mate'.

My pride and joy. Disposed of in favour of punnets of strawberries and bananas.

I panicked and just wondered around bemused for a few minutes not really sure what was going on.

I eventually found it 5 roads away with this friendly sign on it:

Fair enough I suppose as there were some 'Don't park here on Sunday' signs but would have been nice for a little 'we've lifted your car away' voicemail or something? Just a text would have done: 'ello, we mved ur car. cheers'.

you crack me up greg! the same thing happened to my uncle who lives in bromley about 4/5 years ago only difference being he trashed the 'taste of bejing' stall that had replaced his car until someone told him where it had been moved to!
