Mumford and Sons and Friends...
What a lovely night it was...A packed out beautiful venue called 'Cecil Sharp House' was the location for a great night of new music.
The Maccabees, Bombay Bicycle Club, Laura Marling and Mumford and Sons were all performing and it was very special.
In particular, as you might well know by now, I have a small obsession with Mumford. And by small, I mean, frighteningly big. I first heard them played by Colin Murray a couple of years ago on the slot now occupied by Grimmy.
I then heard them do a Zane Lowe session and went to see them at a special show in a barn in Hertfordshire to celebrate the launch of their debut album.
Remember this?! - This wasn't that long ago actually. Just shows you what can happen in a year.
So that's it really. That's how my obsession began and 5 'Records of The Week' later, they're back at Radio 1 headlining their own special night. A great start to their journey.
The barn show last October:
