What's new?

Greg James|11:22 UK time, Monday, 25 January 2010

I've become a movie buff over the weekend. Following on from my awful reviews a few weeks back when James King was off, I've decided to pull my finger out.

First up was '500 Days of Summer', which has a great soundtrack by the way. Then watched Quentin Tarantino's 'Inglorius Basterds' with my mates on Saturday night. I can't recommend it highly enough. It is a superb film - some amazing acting and totally deserved the awards it's just won.

I then watched 'The Hangover' (for the 3rd time). This has given me a great idea for my 25th birthday in December. (Ie. Go to Vegas)

Then last night it was all about the brand new series of 24. Oh it was a good one.

From the above information, it seems like I stayed in all weekend like a sad case. That is partly true, but managed to catch up with a load of old mates too and even managed to see my girlfriend and buy a new phone. A busy weekend.

The show this week has the usual load of nonsense, with added glitz in the form of Ricky Gervais back on the show on Friday afternoon.

Oh, and I saw Peter Capaldi from brilliant BBC series 'The Thick of It' in a coffee shop yesterday - didn't say hello to him. No point. This is him in action:

Also, following on from last week's 'Do you have an interesting story about a key-fob?' question, here's a new one...

Answer below please:

Do you have an interesting story about...some kitchen lino?

Best ones will make it on air...

To be honest, all I have to say about kitchen lino is that... if you think CARPET burn is the worst thing you can ever feel, you're WRONG.

    ;)

*waves from Paris* Yep, people love you guys outside your big island.

Hi, I have a story about Bathroom Lino if thats the same stuff.

Anyway I was about 11 and me and my step dad steve went to get this bathroom lino from a store and we got a huge roll of it. silly me volunteered to carry it out to the van, this roll of lino was like 2-3 metres long, I was about 4 ft 5 then. Everyone was looking at me, it was super light and I looked super strong =]

Rolling yourself up in a large piece of kitchen lino and rolling down a huge grass hill is hilarious fun as I discovered a few years ago when my parents had the kitchen floor re-done! ;)

    P.S. loving the show Greg!

Me and my best mate scott were helping his parents to change the kitchen floor, we got the job because apparently doing a design course means we are qualified to lay lino!

We took out the old lino on the first day and left it outside ready to take to the tip, a few days passed and after wasting alot of lino with our previous attempts they called a pro out. Scott and I then got told to take the old lino to the tip, we went outside and it wasn't there, so concluded that it must have been taken by someone, haha

About a month later the next time I went to scott's house, he wanted to show me something and was smerking as he told me, he knocked on the neighbors door (who I had only seen once before), they let us in; we walked into the kitchen and BAM there was the old lino...On their floor!

When I was about 10 we were getting the floor done and the roll of lino was on the stairs all wrappedup in plastic. As a ten year old who came home to a stair length roll of lino on my stairs, I couldnt have been more excited. I ran to the top and slid down, instead of landing on my bum at the bottom, somehow I managed to land head first with my head against my chest.

I was totally winded and have never been able to look at lino or stairs in the same way.
