The baby got back...

Greg James|10:22 UK time, Friday, 20 March 2009

I'm on the train to good old Bishop's Stortford for the weekend for Mother's Day and other duties. Going to have a bit of a lads night too (wheeeeey, beer, chips, fights, swearing etc). So happy that Spring and therefore the Summer is nearly here too.

What a busy week on the show...doing Scott's show on Monday really threw me out all week, then my cage fighting experience on Tuesday got me beaten up quite badly. I haven't been able to laugh without every muscle in my upper body hurting in the last few days. And working on a show that is so hilarious makes things a lot worse I can tell ya. Thanks for having a listen this week (if you did), it's been a fun one.

Great news about the Big Weekend being in Swindon, but sad news that Colin Murray is leaving. He's a brilliant presenter and someone I look up to a lot. However he will be amazing on 5Live. Thanks for reading all this guff, I hope you still enjoy reading the ramblings of a mad man every now and then. If you want more of this nonsense, then have a look at my Twitter. Oh, and in other news, I think I've found myself a little village cricket team to play for on Sundays. Good times. I've missed playing in the last couple of years. To be honest, I've missed the cream teas.

P.S. I've just got in and found that my room has been taken over by my niece's cot for when she comes to stay. It seems I've been forgotten about.

    Hahahahaha...

Can't say that's the first time I've seen a grown man in a baby crib though!

SUMMERRRRRR. Which means home for 4 months and getting a part time job (BOO!)

I've missed quite a few of the shows this week, Ill try and find a moment to catch up on them but I've been busy as! Lots of meetings and running places, great fun though. So I still don't know why you decided to go fighting...

Really going to miss Colin, his evening show is absolute genius! But best luck to him and everything, he wants a new challenge.

Haha... you don't look in much discomfort in that crib, rather cosy in fact!

I will admit I've never listened to Colin. Your show is a lifesaver for someone suffering insomnia and just needing cheering up/a laugh at the twee hours of the morning. Although the sheep obsession was a bit much...There's enough sheep near where I live without that. I'm just glad the subject didn't come up at work. Would have been my first official hissy fit.

Also...CRICKET! I LOVE that game. Must let us know how that goes on! I haven't played since Year 11...after I got hit on the back of the head by the ball. Avoid this. It hurts more than cage fighting. Hospitals and blood are involved.

Enjoy France! I wish I could go again. Could be useful. I'm fluent in French.

Anyway, that was a bit of a ramble. Keep up the good work, but feel free to give me any suggestions for getting a good night's sleep BEFORE my mum and stepdad drag me to see my doctor. (Yes, I STILL live at home.)

    And I'll shut up now!

I used to live in Bishop's Stortford, well Thorley, which is kinda of Stortford innit, years and years and years ago. Its a bit of a dump Stortford isn't? Admittedly, I haven't been back there for a long time so they may have change it a bit.

Do they still have that Pizza Hut or Pasta Bowl or whatever there calling that chain in the centre of town near Jackson Square? I was walking past there on the opening day and they dragged me into a photo which went in the local paper. It was me, the owner, the mayor of Bishops Stortford and a someone dressed up as a Care Bear (well, it was the 80's) My finest hour.

Also, I once met Glenn ' faith healing extraordinaire' Hoddle in the sports shop he owned in the town centre. I bought some tennis balls and he gave me his autograph. He also had a mullet (well it was the 80's)

    Interesting stuff, huh?
