"The leader of the largest party will be in poll position to become first minister" - Jack McConnell.
But he declined to speculate on what might happen.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a First Minister that was a capable orator?

You can always trust a politician to state the blindingly obvious, especially on election night!
Hi Brian,
What would happen if the number of unused ballot papers was greater than the margin of difference between two candidates?
Kelvin will have a poor turnout today - University exams are on and there are 3 Universities in that constituency.
Also many students are eligible to vote at home and at Uni (ie Kelvin) but legally can only vote in one constituency. Thus the turnout will be lower.
I wonder if you meant "pole position" rather than "poll position".
