Caution urged over swing

Jack McConnell says we should be cautious not to read too much into the 7% swing in the SNP's favour in his constituency.
However, repeating that swing across Scotland would bring several Labour seats into the SNP camp.
Early gossip from Paisley, though, is that the SNP may fall short in taking Paisley South.

This is a crucial election in terms of the UK's contribution to the "alliance" in Iraq.
Blair looks to have cost Scottish Labour a lot of votes, with his unremitting support for the disastrous policy of intervention in the Middle East.
It is highly likely that Blair, and indeed Brown, will be removed at the earliest opportunity, *if* the swing holds up countrywide.
Labour will surely lose a UK general election if they steadfastly refuse to acknowledge the Elephant in the Room.
