Cindy Junior arrives in Albert Square

Sarah M

I hope the Beales have a sofa bed because it's a full house this summer! After Peter Beale's recent return to Walford, his younger half-sister, Cindy Junior, feels lonely - so decides to spend the holidays with the family she should have grown up with. Little does Ian know that Cindy has no intention of returning to Devon...

To jog your memory, Cindy Junior was the love child of her mother's fling with Italian stallion, Nick Holland. However Cindy later died during childbirth whilst serving time in prison having hired a hitman to kill Ian... life's never dull in Walford! After Cindy's death, Ian decided to name the baby in her mother's honour. The baby went to live with her grandma and aunt in Devon.

Cindy truly is her mother's daughter, with her father's dark Italian looksto. Not yet 15, but already a magnet for trouble, she relishes the attention it brings. But deep down Cindy is lonely and after living it up with Peter, she yearns to be embraced by the family she should have grown up in.

Played by Mimi Keene, whose previous credits include Our Girl, Cindy is cheeky and hugely likeable; there's never a dull moment when she's around. Cindy has no fears or inhibitions - and often ends up in hot water as a result. It's only a matter of time before she begins to stir up trouble in Albert Square.

Lorraine Newman, Executive Producer added: "Mimi is an exciting addition to the show and a great actress, as her previous work has shown. Cindy's a minx, creating a great energy within the newly reformed Beale clan. With Peter, Lucy, Bobby and Cindy to contend with, it'll be a lively household, Ian and Denise will certainly have their work cut out."

Mimi's first episode as Cindy transmits in August 2013. We can’t wait for you to meet her!
