To celebrate EastEnders’ 30th anniversary in February 2015, we’re breaking the mould, pushing the boundaries and GOING LIVE! Over the course of a week every episode will have live elements, plus one entire episode will be played out live. Did we mention we’re going LIVE?!

Live
This special week will give a nod to the past and welcome the future. We’ll be tying up big storylines and kick-starting new ones. Charlotte Moore, Controller of BBC One, told us: "Next February will mark a massive event on the channel by creating the ultimate ‘doof doof’ and finally revealing who killed Lucy Beale.”
Our own Executive Producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins, is excited about the “fantastic opportunity for EastEnders to create a massive national event - and one that will enable us celebrate 30 years of EastEnders in spectacular style. With live elements to each episode, as well as a half hour live episode, it allows us to have a huge amount of surprises for the audience. It is ambitious and exciting and something I know everyone at EastEnders will excel at as they always do.”

Ben Stephenson, Controller of Drama Commissioning adds that this will be "the most ambitious anniversary any soap has attempted. 'Live week' allows us to keep loads of secrets from the cast, crew and the audience until the very last minute. With shocking reveals and unguessable twists, it's going to be a week that will change Albert Square forever."
The EastEnders LIVE week will start on Monday 16th February 2015. Who remembers what happened in that first EastEnders episode back on 19th February 1985?
