Halloween horror episode set to shock and surprise viewers

EastEnders News Team

EastEnders’ Executive Producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has revealed that this year’s very special hour-long Halloween episode would be the catalyst for a whole host of exciting new storylines that will take the show through Christmas and into the Spring.

“We’re proud of this episode,” he told us. “Over the years we’ve made Halloween into a thing, getting scarier and scarier - and this episode is a little bit special. This episode kicks off a lot of big things. Big stuff for Sharon and big stuff for Phil. This is the start of a massive storyline for Steve McFadden that will take us through until Easter. And big stuff for Stacey and Martin.”

And that’s not all to look forward to in the coming months. “Also watch out for the Carters,” Dominic told us. “Whitney becomes a bit more permanent behind the bar through her relationship with Lee . And we’re getting ready to film some scenes with wetsuits! As for Vincent - over the next few months we’re going to find out more about his feud with Ronnie. Vincent’s been intriguing and now we’re going to find out exactly what’s been going on behind those glaring eyes!”

And as we revealed on Saturday, two much-loved characters are returning in a Christmas treat for viewers. “Kat and Alfie are coming back! Not permanently, but for a brief return. There’s a lot of story that needs to play out on screen before they go to Ireland, which we will start on in the New Year. But there are some secrets that we need to explode first, so Shane and Jessie start filming next week.”

The special hour-long Halloween episode of EastEnders will air from 7.30pm on Friday 30th October. We’ll be revealing more about, the episode in a chat with its writer and director, in which they uncover the horror homages that inspired it - and how they created a truly shocking moment for one particular Walford resident!
