Move over Lady Di - there's a new top dog in Walford! Canine legend Wellard might be dead - but he isn’t forgotten. As Robbie Jackson returns to Walford this month, he will soon be joined by Wellard 2! The original Wellard died in 2008 and Robbie has never got over losing his one true companion, so when he sees an opportunity to get another dog for his son, he grabs it.
In typical Robbie style, things don’t quite go to plan but at the last minute his dreams come true. And of course, there is only one name for him – Wellard 2.
“Robbie and Wellard were inseparable, so it seems only right that there will be a Wellard 2," actor Dean Gaffney told us. "I think viewers are going to love him!”
Gaffney returns to EastEnders as Robbie Jackson soon for a short stint as part of Carol Jackson's (Lindsey Coulson) leaving storyline.
