Rob Da Bank at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Carlisle

I've made it am wearing shorts! Yes I’m feeling brave- not only that it won't rain but also exposing my white pins to the hordes of 1 Big Weekenders. I was doing my alternative soundtrack to King Kong in Manchester last night which is a whole other story so I was feeling a bit knocked off after a long night but as soon as I got here and felt the vibes they shook me wide awake and ready to rave.
I’ve just come off blasting the Outdoor Stage where I was sandwiched between MistaJam and Pete Tong versus Vernon Kay. I like to think I was a fairly meaty filling and it seemed to go down well! I was joined by a new addition to the da Bank family MC Chunky who hails from the Rainy City and know how to get a party started! Big tunes for us coming from the Heatwave mix of Adele, House Of Pain, Boys Noize, Rusko and Justice.
This is my fifth Big Weekend and it’s such a mega line up here I’m not sure what I’m gonna catch next as I dash about one minute drenched head to foot in rain the next striping off in the sunshine. I’ve already seen Panic At The Disco rockin out, Jessie J with the audience in the palm of her hand, Ellie Goulding in some saucy denim shorts smacking out Starry Eyed and just caught the end of Rizzlekicks at the Introducing Stage who are set for BIG THINGS, believe me! Chase & Status are literally levitating with energy as I speak but the big question is whether Lady Gaga will be brave enough to wear her meat dress tomorrow - she might get eaten alive by the rabid rabblerousers here
