:: US Album of the YearEminem - Recovery:: UK Album of the Year
Three-way tie between:
Magnetic Man - Magnetic Man / Pendulum - Immersion / Underworld - Barking:: Album Title of the Year
Underworld - Barking. Works on three levels. I am writing this in case you do not live in the UK and maybe English is not your first language. Barking is a place in Essex, a county that is home to Underworld. Barking is the sound that dogs make, and 'barking' for some reason has become a popular description of a person deranged, as in' barking mad'. Or just 'barking'. This is as weird as calling someone 'mad as a box of frogs', but popular nevertheless. I suppose if you were one of a load of frogs crammed in a box you would get mad!
:: Single of the Year
Tie between:
Tinie Tempah - Pass Out
Quite simply created that tingling buzz of excitement as soon as you heard it. A game changer, a bench marker and the beginning of a huge international career for Tinie.
Magnetic Man - I Need Air
It was the song of the summer, of summer nights, probably upset a lot of dubstep purists, but do you want this genre to die on the vine? No!
Runners up:
Redlight feat. Ms Dynamite - What You Talking AboutComplete delight and marked the so refreshing return of Ms Dynamite
Cracks feat. Belle Humble - Freestylers ( Control Z Radio Edit) :: Cover Version of the YearYou've Got The Love (originally by The Source feat. Candi Staton) Florence And The MachineIts tough to cover a classic, but Flo and co made it their own. This former BBC Introducing band then became a huge success in the US charts with this song.
It's All Too Much (originally by The Beatles) by Primal Scream.
Performed live at my Maida Vale night. They say they will never perform it again. Seven minutes of sustained glory.
Amphetamine Annie (originally by Canned Heat) by The Streets. Again a one off, a tongue in cheek cheeky tribute to me! Well I hope it's tongue in cheek Mike!

ExcisionBlameA Skills:: Tunes of the Year
