Hey there, it's tuesday dinnertime, which feels like lunchtime because I'm doing early breakfast and that makes your day go upsidedown. I had a lovely weekend... I headed up to Creamfields with J-mo on Saturday on the train... and got there 20 mins before my set in the Chibuku shake Shake tent. I went on at 5.30pm.. the sound seemed low but there was a decent crowd thanks to DJ Touche and I felt good until....

about 20 minutes in I did one of the words mixes I've ever done. Irretrievably awful. There was no turning back. In this situation, one has 2 choices. Crouch down behind the decks with your hand over your ears and have a private moment of despair, or stand and take a bow. I chose the latter, had a laugh and kept going. Having J-Mo pissing herself laughing behind me helped. After another 20 minutes I got my mojo back (ie my hands stopped shaking) and the last hour was good. Thanks to everyone who came down, the crowd, as always at Creamfields, was fantastic.

After my set I had to head over the the hospitality area to be a guest on this Channel five TV programme called Fifth Gear. There's this new car out with an inbuilt soundsystem and DJ booth in it and they wanted me to do a soundclash with the presenter. It was quite painful..Erol Alkan got asked to do it aswell but as soon as he saw us he legged it. I don't blame him! Afterwards J-Mo and I were wondering what kind of person would actually drive a bright yellow car with an inbuilt DJ booth and decks in it? An absolute plonker methinks....

Anyway it's on at the beginning of October if you fancy watching me being embarassed. I've put all my pics up on FLICKER, if you want to have a look there click on the pics on the bottom right of this page.

Sunday was the day of the launch. I'm sorry I wasn't able to give out the details on this blog but I couldn't have guaranteed people entry and didn't want to have people turned away. It took place at the Brockwell Lido in Brixton. There was a cocktail bar and a barbeque and a dancefloor and it was loads of fun. I DJed for a bit, playing tracks off the album mixed up with other stuff and then we all headed back to Rachel's house for a party,...

SO i had a lovely weekend,... come on! now it's your turn! how did you get on at creamfields if you went? or what festies did you go to? and who did you see? who was good and who was awful?

that is the gaelic word for 'tonight'. My Gaelic had to come in handy some time.

so the show is going to be great tonight. There is so much new music to play... Yummy Bingham, Jags Kooner mix of Kasabian, brand new DJ Yoda single, new CSS track, new Craggz And Parallel Forces track, new Cassius some much new stuff!

I'm bracing myself for a heavy weekend..I have Creamfields on Saturday..am playing before the Plump DJs in the Chibuku Shake Shake tent and on Sunday I am having my album launch party in Brixton. This weekend is ridiculous in terms of what's going on, there's Carnival, TDK, Reading And Leeds, Creamfields, Get Loaded In The Park... what have you got planned? where are you gonna be? x

  1. RETURN OF THE MAC.

sorry I had to get that title in there somewhere.. I'm back! After a long week in Ibiza I'm back in London. am feeling slightly delirious as I'm doing the early breakfast show for 2 weeks.. am just home from the first one thus have been awake since 3am.

so Ibiza was fantastic...have you checked out the photos and film? I played Amnesia on the Saturday night with Myles and DJ Touche.. I ended up in the booth when Mylo was DJing with a tambourine, banging away like Bez. He was in superb form, bouncing all over the place during his set, he said he knew he had drank enough when he kissed the Spanish sound engineer on the head! I went to space on Sunday and saw 2manyDJs rock the terrace, they were brilliant. They played each track for no more than 2 minutes, there was never a chance to get bored. Thursday I played The Terrace at Amnesia again, a 3 hour set which I loved. Then on Friday I played the Coco Loco room in Manumission. I've always wanted to play there. It was a first for me having naked dancers gyrating on the bar during my set!

So the biggest tracks that I heard out there were Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit, Ame - Rej, Spiller - Jumbo and Erol's mix of Justice - Waters Of Nazereth. There's loads of new tunes I'm excited about, a Phones mix of Muse supermassive Black Hole, a Claude Von Stroke mix of Put Your Hands Up For Detroit, an Armand Van Helden mix of Boy Least Likely To.

Thanks for all the messages from the last post.. I will get my hands on that Cassius album and the Screamheads stuff this week for sure. Can't wait to get to get stuck into my post this week and to do the show! I really missed it in Ibiza.. Will get photos up on the Flickr as soon as too..x

  1. FRESH MUSIC..

Just listening back to last night's show... LOVED doing it. With a show like that, it could have been 6 hours long and we still wouldn't have had enough time to play everything we wanted. We also had our first power cut during Erol alkan's remix of Franz Ferdinand's Do You Want To. it was all very exciting..

    Hope you enjoyed it .

Because we had two theme shows in a row next week is all about new new music. stuff I'm excited about for the future like Cansei Der Se Sexy (listen to them HERE), Junior Boys ( a new band on domino), Does It Offend You Yeah, Para One, Luke Vibert's Kerrier District 2 album which is very classy and very fun dance music, produced to perfection.

Let me know what producers and bands that you're excited about at the moment..Is there anyone you think I should be representing in the show next week?
