Not just an apple

It could be a banana, pomegranate or even a kumquat, apparently. All of the headlines today suggest than an apple a day could really keep the doctor away, possibly being as effective in fighting strokes and heart attacks as statins. Researchers at Oxford University reckon that if everyone over fifty ate a piece of fruit every day, it would save an estimated 8,500 lives every year. Those old wives weren’t as daft as we think…
