What were your highlights of 2010?
The curtain is falling on 2010 and what a year it has been for Africa. From the euphoria of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa and the horror of the Kampala bombs that killed nearly 80 fans watching the final, to celebrations in 17 African countries that marked 50 years of independence including Nigeria and Somalia.
Plus, not to forget, the SMS hoax of an impending earthquake in Ghana that left many people too scared to sleep indoors.
But all that aside, we'd like you to tell us what made this year memorable for you as an individual. You know, the events in your life that will always remind you of 2010. What things made you laugh, cry or do both this year?

What a "discussion topic", is great, interesting, happiness and sad.
Africans 2010, would have been the joyous year over decades after a string of successfull indepence fight, had it not been the sad end of a show of an ugly face of a dictatorship for one of the most vibrant econoy of West African countries, Ivory coast. Africa would have been the best place for tourism in 2011, and emerging Tourist destination and investment place for a considerable Westerners, particularly, with China competing with them.
However, most of the success gained, in terms of respect and a bit of stability recognition has[Unsuitable/Broken URL removed by Moderator] been eroded by power drunks the likes of Gbagbo. Undobtedly, the highlight of 2010 for Africa would have been the FIFA 2010 but it has been dent by the work of power dranks.
Nonetheless, hope is not lost yet lost; I mean, this is the first time both ECOWAS and African Union (AU) has been very critical and seriously come to the aid of the voice of the ordinary choice for the president. I think therefore that they deserve recommendation and surely qualifies for the highlight of the activities of the year.
I therefore, choose the voice of ECOWAS and AU for the first time since their inception as the greatest highlights of the year for Africa.
Thanks

Secondly, I just cant get over the fact that Obama lost his popularity so fast, people started loathing the man for the same reasons they loved him, I thought that was funny, all talk and not enough action irritated the Americans. Big-big grammar doesnt quite cut it mate, the people want health, cut taxes and create jobs etc.
Furthermore, I got my dream job by accident, which should probably be on top of this list, I will never forget how I got this job and will forever be grateful to God. PREPARATION + OPPORTUNITY = SUCCESS.
Who can forget how the Chilean Miners overcame the natural cause of Nature, this story encourages me daily on what one can achieve in Life when you just "Believe" it can happen regardless of the situation.
Something about the Name "GOODLUCK" President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the story of how a simple Lecturer who has never ran for office became President of Nigeria. All his appointments from Bayelsa state governor to vice-president Goodluck is truly LUCKY. After Goodluck succeeded his Boss Late President Umaru Yardua, folks started naming their kids GOODLUCK. Yes and the President hosted Facebook party at Eko hotel this month, theme of the party was "my friends and I" this is one funky President. Love him
God bless this woman.Screen Goddess Genevieve Nnaji, was profiled on Oprah and interviewed on CNN, apart from the fact that I am her biggest fan and completely adore Genevieve, her success means alot to me, because here is someone who got involved purely for the love of the act and with it all the fame and success followed. I hope Genevieve will know how much of an impact she is to all of us young ladies who love her. Actually one of my 2011 wishes is to meet her and talk over a cuppa. I love Genny.
The situation in Ivory Coast makes me so sad, I dont even want to talk about it.
Ghana discovered oil, so funny this oil has been hiding for ages only to show up now, I bet Ghana's success at the 2010 world had something to do with this lol.
Airtel formerlt known as Zain Nigeria, changed ownership for 6th time, i mean do this people know what it is to do business? I pity them, am sure they still have customers because Nigerian customers are loyal to a fault. I hope the remain as Airtel for atleast 6 years oh.
Lastly I finally finished paying Barclays Bank my student Loan. wicked

It stands in a class all by itself in terms of its far reaching significance for pointing to a more prosperous future for African nations. It was Africans solving African problems themselves. The Kenyan leadership as embodied by Odinga and Kibaki showed what was possible if we Africans put our minds to it. Though I am not Kenyan(Nigerian), I cried tears of joy to see fellow Africans being able to resolve some of the fundamental challenges that faced us without external intervention. THIS is the spirit which other quarreling African nations must imbibe in order to obtain the peace and stability that is a prerequisite for progress and development. The African continent can do it and slowly but surely, with wonderful examples being set by countries such as Kenya, it is on it's way. Congratulations to Kenya once again on the brightest star in the African firmament in the year 2010.

I am still working on it.

If the three West African leaders steer through the part of peace for the millions in Ivory Coast, they would have succeeded to thwart the spilling of blood in that country and this in itself a honourable feat featfor ECOWAS.
As 2010 clock ticks to its ultimate end, there will be no better legacy than the need to thwart the impending danger in Ivory Coast.
