GO WOLF - Running
They Say “'Running is us, inching closer to what we want to sound like as a band. Hopefully the listener will pick up on our touchstones - Steely Dan meets Talking Heads, with a few modern touches like the processed drums and updated synths. Thematically the song is a snapshot of the end of a relationship and the strange movement from intimacy to distance that comes with a breakup, but I guess it could apply to any negative life experience. The chorus is meant to be quite cathartic - just deciding to get on with life and not be melodramatic.”
We Say: “Feels like GO WOLF are under a fair amount of pressure at the moment, with a string of fantastic tracks under their belt, a decent record deal and industry festival SXSW in the pipeline. This new track HAD to be good. What a relief then that they’re at their effortlessly cool, glitzy best.”
