Niall Byrne joined Rigsy to talk about some of their favourite new releases in New Tune Disco on 9th February 2015.

ASIWYFA – Run Home

Niall: “Well they’ve always been one of my favourite bands ... It’s a celebratory song and they say their album will be the most personal and meaningful album that they’ve made so far - so looking forward to hearing more of that.”

Rigsy: “What a band, everyone loves ASIWYFA and it’s interesting because the sound they make is relatively challenging and I guess, niche in a way, but everyone loves them because they’re so good at it.”

B**** Falcon – Wolfstooth

Niall: “So these guys are a brand new band from Dublin and that’s their first proper single….a band that came out of nowhere in the last few months... I do like female fronted rock music... Really cool song.”

Down to Level – Snake Eyes

Rigsy: “This sounds like they know what they’re doing…very hard to go wrong with a big, chunky riff. What a sound they’ve got for this.”

Niall: “The production on that song is really nice.”

MuRli – Both Sides

Niall: “This is his chance to shine and I think he really does shine on it.”

Michael Mormecha – Family

Rigsy: “Creepy and lovely in equal measures, which is standard practice for Michael Mormecha.”

Buffalo Woman – U Make Me High

Niall: “That is their first recorded song and that is the first thing they’ve actually formally released, so I expect to hear more of that this year.”

Hare Squead – Bop with It

Niall: “Just really, really impressed…they came out of nowhere for me, so I’m hoping 2015 will show a lot more for Hare Squead.”

Threds – I Get You

Rigsy: “I just really wanted to play a little bit of the sweet duet… very catchy little song, very nice feel to the track as well.”
