The Sea, Close By – Prepare to Evacuate Soul

Tuesday 13th December, 2016

They say:
“We recorded ‘Prepare to Evacuate Soul’ live in one hour with Rocky O’Reilly in Start Together Studio. It's a lot angrier than the material we're currently working on, but a lot of fun and we're planning to record a studio version later in 2017.”

We say: “Snarling guitars (replete with sustained harmonics and angry arpeggios) are juxtaposed with powerful lyrical imagery and yearning, tender vocals. A massive breakdown allows the drums and guitar a well-deserved thrash-out, amps cranked to breaking point. It’s raw, it’s elemental and it’s all the better for it.”

The Sea, Close By are Kate, Alastair and Kerilee. Described as a ‘live studio recording’, ‘Prepare to Evacuate Soul’ is out in advance of the band’s next single which is being recorded in Smalltown America Studio this month.

As often as possible Across the Line aims to bring you a great new, recent or interesting track each day, Monday to Friday. To get your new music to Across the Line send it via the BBC Introducing Uploader.
