FWW to play final, hometown show

Following on from the sad news that Fighing With Wire are to bring things to a close they have today posted on their Facebook page with some more details. Thanking all those who have supported them they also tell us that there'll be a few more shows and a final hometown show in September in Londonderry, although there are no specific dates at present.

The Derry three piece have been active for ten years, releasing several albums and playing countless incendiary live shows across Ireland, the UK and Europe. Their current album ‘Colonel Blood’ was signed to Xtra Mile records last summer after recording in Nashville the previous year.

The full text of their post is below...

“We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped and supported our band over the last ten years, time has come to call it a day. It has been an amazing journey and we are greatful for every opportunity we got along the way. We worked hard and tried our best and we're proud of FWW, we achieved more than we ever thought we could and we enjoyed every minute.

We have a few more shows booked and a final show in our home town Derry in September, we'll post details about these shows soon. A massive thank you to all the bands we've played with and all the great friends we made, keep it tense brothers and sisters ;-)

Thank you for coming to our shows, buying our records and believing in our band. See you on the road.
