Meb Jon Sol - I Am From Nowhere

They say – “The track is the oldest track on the album - it was written and recorded as a demo with Colenso, but it didn't suit the style of music we played. It was influenced by The Dirty Blues Band, a bluegrass band I occasionally played banjo in. The laughter at the end is me: we were recording the 'hey' shouts and Ferg cracked me up by doing another one after the music finished. I like recordings rough and raw so we kept it in.”

We say – “We've spent a fair amount of time debating just which track from Meb Jon Sol's debut album to play on the radio. Problem is, they're genuinely all incredibly engaging and extremely likable. A broad mash of themes and musical ideas means no one song truly represents what the record is like, but this one wins through due to the gorgeous backing vocals. But yeah, you'll need to go check out the entire album!”

Meb Jon Sol will play The Sunflower Bar, Belfast this Thursday (16th October) and Voodoo, Belfast on Wednesday 22nd October.
