Snow Patrol and Tired Pony font man Gary Lightbody has been recognised for his contribution to music. Gary found success in 2004 with the power ballad 'Run', which became the bands first UK top 5 hit. Despite his band following up this success with a series of platinum-selling albums, Ivor Novello award winner Gary never lost focus on the Irish music scene becoming an integral part of artist development while mentoring artists through his 'Third Bar' artist development company.
Gary will be the first recipient of this award, which is to be presented at the upcoming NI Music Prize on November 15th, in association with Oh Yeah Music Centre and Inspire Wellbeing.
