The Northern Ireland Music Prize 2014 - Album shortlist announced

The twelve albums shortlisted for the Northern Ireland Music Prize 2014 have been announced on Across the Line. More than 70 people, from across the NI music industry and music media, took part in the voting. The winner will be announced at the Northern Ireland Music Prize, which will take place in Mandela Hall, Belfast on 15^th November.

The albums shortlisted for this year’s Northern Ireland Music Prize are:

Malibu Shark Attack - Malibu Shark Attack

Mojo Fury – The Difference Between

More Than Conquerors - Everything I've Learnt

Rams Pocket Radio – Béton

Robyn G Shiels – The Blood Of The Innocents

Slomatics – Estron

Sullivan and Gold – For Foes

VerseChorusVerse – VerseChorusVerse

Wonder Villains – Rocky

The award ceremony will end with a presentation to Therapy?, who will receive an Oh Yeah Legend Award.The band will also perform their Mercury Prize shortlisted album ‘Troublegum’ in full. The album, released in 1994, sold over one million copies.

The event will be the finale of the Sound of Belfast, programme, which takes place across the city between 7^th-15^th November. Foy Vance’s ‘The Joy of Nothing’ picked up the award in 2013.
