Susie-Blue - People Like Us

Wednesday 28th September, 2016

They Say: “We recorded this song with Rocky O'Reilly and it was such a pleasure to work with him, he is amazing. We wanted to write a song that would reach a lot of people and have lyrics that really meant something,

People Like Us is a song for everyone who has ever felt out of place and the "they" in the song are the people who just cant accept anyone who is different from themselves. We then wanted the video to show acceptance and that eventually you will find your place.

We are really happy with the way it was received and we plan to have another release before Christmas.”

We Say: "Susie-Blue has been quietly subversive for some time now, but this is definitely a milestone. 'People Like Us' is an anthem for the misunderstood, the fringe-dwellers, the night people.

Marginalised society is the battlefield in our culture wars and Susie-Blue has just put up a great billowing flag at the centre of it all."

Hailing from Derry~Londonderry, Susie-Blue are a three-piece fronted by Susan Donaghy.

As often as possible Across the Line aims to bring you a great new, recent or interesting track each day, Monday to Friday. To get your new music to Across the Line send it via the BBC Introducing Uploader.
