The Oh Yeah Music Centre, Belfast, has revealed the five new acts selected for Scratch My Progress 2020. The talent development programme, now in its 9th year, will support each of the acts over the next 9 months.
A real reflection of our evolving music scene here in Northern Ireland, it’s an exciting collection of artists including Gender Chores, Gilmore, Lemonade Shoelace, Riley Holland and Vivamagnolia.
They will receive mentoring and advice from industry professionals and working alongside a dedicated Talent Development Coordinator they will take part in workshops, studio time, professional photo shoots, showcase gigs, vocal coaching and more, including the use of free rehearsal time and receive PR and digital marketing support.
And with the current situation surrounding the closure of live music and events, there will also be increased support in developing digital skills in artist promotion, performance and development of online audiences.
The Scratch My Progress scheme has mentored a diverse range of talent over the years including NI Music Prize Winners Kitt Philippa and Sister Ghost, music and media personalities like our own Gemma Bradley & Emer Maguire and artists representing the rock, alternative, acoustic, rap, pop, punk and electronic genres.
If previous year’s recipients are anything to go by there are big things to come for all of these acts! Stay tuned!
