Duellists - Shipwreck

Tuesday 2nd February 2016

They Say: "In this band we aim for writing rhythmic, aggressive songs with a focus on intensity rather than groove, so in a way Shipwreck is a reprieve from this. It was written with atmosphere and melody in mind and it's definitely the track that has caught people's attention. Now that we have recordings under our belt, our focus now is on playing as much as possible this year and letting people hear these songs.

Our influences range from heavier bands such as Converge to bands like Fugazi & And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead."

We say: “Truly the sum of its parts - Duellists mash what we loved about both Throat and Element - two acts who’ve bequeathed members to this incredibly exciting new act. Thoughtful, noisy and epic, it’s designed to provoke fists in the air and encourage a gentle revolution. None of which comes as a surprise.”

Duellists are a three piece noise outfit from Belfast, and this single appears on their 4-track self-titled EP, available now.

The band play GIFTED at the Empire, Belfast, on 4th February, alongside The Couth, Dutch Schultz and The Bayonettes. Also on 9th February they play with Frank Carter and Wounds at Voodoo, Belfast.
