Hurdles – France and Dusk & Dawn (Live in Session)

Wednesday 3rd February 2016

They Say:
“For the ATL session, Niall and I (Thomas) had to sit down and arrange the tracks from our new E.P ‘Dusk & Dawn’ to function stripped back with Niall on acoustic guitar and myself on electric. The tracks were recomposed in places to compensate for the lack of percussion and groove that Eoin and Ross would usually provide.

The result is a slightly more atmospheric, raw version of the E.P. An interesting challenge for us which was really enjoyable to play and hopefully the sound reflected this.”

We say: “
Sometimes a band will weigh into our little studio with full percussion, a couple of amps and….who knows what else. We always appreciate the effort and the results are almost always fantastic. But then there are bands that properly strip back, perhaps especially confident in their ability to let the song - and their playing - do the talking. That was the case with Hurdles, who made a simple combination of acoustic and electric sound beefy, rhythmical and fun. Impressive stuff from start to finish.”

Hurdles performed 3 tracks live in session for Across the Line on Monday 1st February, 2016. Their new E.P ‘Dusk & Dawn’ was released the same day
