Malojian - This Is Nowhere (Aren't You Lonely)

Tuesday 15th November, 2016

They say:
“’This Is Nowhere (Aren't You Lonely?)’ is the opening track of our new album. I suppose it's a personal reflection on the times we live in, social media etc. It was recorded by Steve Albini and kicks straight in with the big drums. I got to use Albini's strat through his fabled Harmonic Percolator for this track, after describing the sound I wanted as "pure dort”. Good times! ”

We say: “Belfast troubadour Steven Scullion muses on the idiosyncracies of modern life, his infectious vintage-inspired sound triumphing over the doldrums of social-media and other pursuits that ‘tear at his soul’. It’s an instantly enjoyable track, expertly crafted, with a gloriously distorted guitar solo to boot.”

‘This is Nowhere (Aren’t You Lonely)’ is from Maljian’s ‘This is Nowhere’ album which was released in October via CD, digitally and on transparent red vinyl. The album was recorded in Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago. Malojian play Whelan’s in Dublin on 26th November, Campbell’s Tavern in Headford on 1st December and The Eglantine in Belfast on 17th December.
