Across The Line started life as The Bottom Line, in 1986.

On Monday the 12th of December a special one hour documentary celebrating three decades of Across the Line will be broadcast at 10.40pm on BBC One NI. ATL was BBC Northern Ireland’s first weekly network programme championing music from Northern Ireland.

ATL began life in 1986 as ‘The Bottom Line’ presented by Mike Edgar and since then the show has kick-started the careers of many musicians such as Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, The Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon, Therapy? and more, all who will be on speaking about ATL.

The programme also features the original presenter Mike Edgar and the team who paved the way for the shows successful 30 year run, including Davy Sims, Donna Legge, Paul McClean and current presenters Rigsy, and Stuart Bailie.

Tune in on Monday night to celebrate a radio show that has provided a platform for emerging talent, and helped define the sound of Northern Ireland, for the past thirty years.
