Les Pantalons – Wooden Foot

Wednesday 1st March, 2017

They say:
“‘Wooden Foot’ is a mad ride from start to finish. To record it, we opted to keep a live take at the heart of the track in order to capture its energy and intensity. It's a very delicate tune yet very raw and dirty sounding at the same time.

This song is about happiness - someone else's happiness. It's about wanting to see that someone else - being happy. But we will let the song do all the talking.”

We say: “Muddy, brooding and reminiscent of Nick Cave, ‘Wooden Foot’ feels like a step into the darkness musically and lyrically. It captures a feeling of begrudging acceptance, something that is only enhanced by the live nature of the track.

It’s a massive change of pace for the two former members of Feet for Wings, Stephen and Iain, and along with Vadim and Jennifer they have created something rough, ready and very real.”

‘Wooden Foot’ is taken from ‘the double and coke ep’ and available to stream for free now.

As often as possible Across the Line aims to bring you a great new, recent or interesting track each day, Monday to Friday. To get your new music to Across the Line send it via the BBC Introducing Uploader.
