Ciaran Lavery & Ryan Vail – Colour Blue
They say: “We are Ciaran Lavery & Ryan Vail, two artists from very different worlds. After talking a little online and finally meeting at a festival we were both performing at, we decided to collaborate. After only initially planning to write maybe two or three tracks together, the project quickly snowballed into more and more tracks with an over-arching theme emerging, perhaps inspired by our coastal surroundings in Donegal where we recorded the album. We wanted the album to be as beautiful as the sounds within it, and the Sea Legs mini album will be released in April 2015.
The Sea Legs mini album for us was more than a project. It was about showing respect to two very different types of musical genres. Living here in Northern Ireland, folk and electronic artists very rarely collaborate in this way. Hopefully this will inspire more artists to break away from there comfort zone.”
We say: “A beautiful collaboration from the most haunting voice in Ireland (Lavery) and a soundscape maker of distinction (Vail). The song is a perfect expression of regret and the new video from ROC hastens the heartache.”
