Electronic music festival AVA has added Larry Heard to its roster of performing artists and speakers. For a quarter of a century, Larry Heard – also known as Mr. Fingers – has been a key, iconic figure in house music.
As well as performing at the festival – his Northern Irish debut – Heard will be delivering a keynote as part of the conference schedule which has also been announced. This will sit alongside talks with industry luminaries Bicep, Kink, Saoirse and more. In addition, local label and collective Extended Play will share insider tips along with speakers from PRS For Music and AFEM. District Magazine and This Greedy Pig offer a look at digital media in music.
AVA takes place from 1st June – 2nd June at S13 Warehouse, Belfast, with the conference in The MAC. For the full roster of artists and guest speakers, visit the AVA website.
Also recently announced, May 21st will see The XX bringing their brand of minimalist pop to Belfast, to play a headline show at The Ulster Hall.
This will be the band’s first time to these shores since 2013, and tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday 8th March at 10am.
