JEALOUS OF THE BIRDS SIGNS TO ATLANTIC

Jealous of The Birds' Naomi Hamilton announced last night that she has signed to Atlantic Records.

Posting on the Jealous of the Birds Facebook page from New York, Naomi wrote 'Delighted to announce that I'm officially signed with Atlantic Records. I want to thank every worldrocker who's supported my music and journey as Jealous of the Birds over the past three years. None of what has happened would've been possible without you.'

The Portadown musician went on to thank her management, band members and 'anyone who's taken the time to listen to the music, come to shows and share their kindness'. Artists currently signed to Atlantic Records include Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Jess Glynne.

STENDHAL PRIZE LAUNCHED

Limavady music and arts festival Stendhal is now taking applications for their 2018 Featured Artist Prize. First introduced last year, it highlights an up and coming Northern Irish artist with their work forming the basis of the festival’s visual marketing for the year.

In addition, the Featured Artist will receive a cash prize as well as having their work exhibited throughout Stendhal – both the event, and in terms of social media, print and televisual marketing.

MORE ACTS FOR VITAL

Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast will once again play host to Belfast Vital this summer, on Saturday 25th August.

Headlining this year is DJ Martin Garrix, with support coming from dance icon Steve Angello, Swedish singer-songwriter Zara Larsson and upcoming pop performer Loop.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, 2nd March, at 9am.



CHSq

SHINE will return to Custom House Square on Sunday 26th August showcasing techno label Drumcode, with founder Adam Beyer headlining the show.

Also on the bill are fellow Drumcode DJs Amelie Lens and Enrico Sangiuliano, with SHINE resident duo Schmutz kicking off the evening.

Also recently announced as performing at CHSq are Irish four-piece Kodaline, with a headline show taking place on Thursday August 23rd. Already confirmed for the Belfast city based series of gigs are George Ezra, Ben Nicky, Sasha, John Digweed, Kasabian, Rag 'n' Bone Man, Stiff Little Fingers, The Damned, Buzzcocks and The Defects.

KNOCKANSTOCKAN RETURNS

In other news, the first acts have been recently revealed for KnockanStockan 2018, which returns to Blessington from 27th – 29th July.

The initial lineup includes Wood Burning Savages, Paddy Hanna, Elaine Mai, Bantum, Humans of the Sesh, ROE, JyellowL, Navá, Sim Simma Sound System, Bicurious, Akora, Chancer, The Olllam and Moon Looks On, with many more acts to be announced.
