Self Stifled – I’m Just Fine

Wednesday 13th April 2016

They Say: “Musically the song is very influenced by the 90's, and bands that are reviving the 90's sound, such as Basement and Superheaven. The lyrics are really about not wanting someone to leave and being bitter about it, and as a result of that depending on alcohol to cope.”

We Say: “All six tracks on the E.P act as a strong introduction to this lot and we could have played any of them on the show, but ‘I’m Just Fine’ stood out a little bit. That nonchalant, effortless cool vocal works a treat, especially when bombarded with frantic guitars. Great to be able to talk about a band from Fermanagh - Martin Corrigan, Neil Hannon and a handful of others aside - we’ve not had enough music from that neck of the woods in the history of Across the Line…..”

‘I’m Just Fine’ is from the ‘Sick and Sober’ E.P which was produced by Charles Knox and released in February. Self Stifled support Making Monsters in Charlies Bar, Enniskillen on May 7th, support Attack the Day in McKenna’s Bar, Monaghan on 20th May and play ‘Live in Skea!’ at McCafferey’s in Lisnaskea on 27th May.
