Overhead, The Albatross – Indie Rose

Thursday 14th April 2016

They Say: “Indie Rose is named after our friend’s baby daughter. It was a nightmare trying to keep it from them. If you listen closely you can hear a sneaky recording of Scott - Indie’s Dad, talking about finding out that Nicole was pregnant and how happy they were. At times putting names to instrumental music can seem like an exercise in futility, with lots of weird arbitrary names. So it’s nice to be able to really dedicate one track to people we care about. It’s a slow burner, hope you like it.”

We Say: “This happens to be up there with the best crafted tracks we’ve played this year. And it’s nothing less than we’d expect from this Dublin 6 piece, who have a knack for creating gorgeous, soundtrack-y anthems designed to stir the soul.”

Dublin six-piece Overhead, The Alabatross consists of band members: Joe Panama, Vinny Casey, Stevie Darragh, Ben Garrett, Luke Daly & David Prendergast. Their debut album ‘Learning To Growl’ will be released on 13th May 2016.

As often as possible Across the Line aims to bring you a great new, recent or interesting track each day, Monday to Friday. To get your new music to Across the Line send it via the BBC Introducing Uploader.
