Sick With Silence - …But This In Marble
A Belfast band led by Tom Gribben, who have just released their EP '3' on 12th April 2015.
They Say: “The track was entirely recorded and programmed in my bedroom. Musically the song is inspired by late 90's Alternative Rock. I wanted the track to sound like the era of Machina, Smashing Pumpkins or My Vitriol but with a heavier twist. The title "...But This is Marble" is taken from a play by Beaumont and Fletcher called Philaster. The complete quote is "All your better deeds shall be in water writ, but this in marble." Lyrically the song is very personal, dealing with the failures and shortcomings in my life thus far.” Tom Gribben
We Say: “This is absolutely colossal - just like everything else on the EP. Thundering drums, integrate guitar riffage and huge bass for the duration. Astonishing to consider it's the work of a band in the conventional sense - this is actually just one guy at work in the studio - the multi-talented (and possibly multi-armed) Tom Gribben.”
