Squarehead - 2025

They say: “It wasn't supposed to be a single, but dare I say a "celebrity fan" in the shape of Domhnall Gleeson begged us to release it and asked us if could he make a video. Naturally we said yes and with the help of his great work on the video the song has been given a second life. As far as influence and style it's the most "classic Squarehead" song on the album. The mid tempo, poppy ballads are what come most instinctively to us, so it was pretty easy to write. As I recall I was listening to a lot of Real Estate and revisiting some of the pop punk bands of my youth, Weezer, Green Day and Blink 182.” Roy, Squarehead.

We say: Another colourful little gem from a Dublin three piece, incapable of putting a foot wrong. A little more laid back than normal with this one, but no less catchy and no less tropical.

At the moment all proceeds from the single go to Domhnall’s ‘Immaturity for Charity’ - a series of comedy sketches made to raise money for a hospice in Dublin; St. Francis Hospice, Raheny.
