Emerald Armada - Brothers

They Say: “Before we hit the studio to record our last EP Five Beating Hearts we had a good idea of what songs, style order we wanted to do everything in. We never intended to record Brothers. It was a very last minute decision, I had the bones of the song from a few years back, but I could never find the song's groove. So it was forgotten about. I had a chorus, which I was just playing while killing some studio time and it just happened. We wrote nearly all the parts that night and recorded it the next day. Tony McHugh our electric guitar player and the guy that produces all our stuff hadn’t even heard it until we sent him the tracks. So, all in all it was a very spontaneous session. We love the end result though, I mean…it has a bodhrán solo! The song is a short story about parties, spending time with friends, realising life isn’t too hard if you don’t want it to be. A kind of lighten-up track. Simple is always better.”
We Say: “A statement of intent - that things are only going to get better for arguably the biggest Northern Irish success story of 2014. Sold out shows, an Indian tour and (most important of all) a roof-removing set at Blackstaff House for ATL made for a very special twelve months, which ends with the release of yet another gem from their increasingly impressive cannon.”
