Hot Cops - Fallout
They Say: "The idea for Fallout was conceived around late 2013 and culminated in practices in early 2014. It draws inspiration from a number of places, namely Pavement, Pixies and the video for ‘Swing Lo Magellan’ by the Dirty Projectors. The image of a lone figure, in a flat suburban sprawl at sunset, walking slowly towards the camera really stuck with me and ‘Fallout’ is an exploration of the darker side of that imagery.
It addresses themes of death, change, self-awareness and the realisation that how you perceive yourself and your work, is not always how it appears to others. When discussing songs I usually try to avoid specifics, as I don't want to undermine the validity of the listener's interpretations and what the song might mean to them."
We Say: “What a joy it was to get Kenzie’s Farmhouse – Hot Cops first public track – just 10 months ago into the BBC introducing Uploader. A blistering, frantic blast of great alt-rock. We’ve been fans ever since, with follow up track Origami and now their new EP #1 Babes stealing our attention. The Belfast based three-piece record a full electric session for us this weekend - for broadcast on Monday 16th February’s Across the Line - and we can’t wait to hear it!
