Race the Flux – Matty Rusko
Monday 14th March 2016
They Say: “This song is about a series of uncomfortable events that took place in my life and how awkwardly I dealt with them. The title of this song comes from us having a fondness for being fools around each other. The song was originally called Matryoshka but it kind of mutated through stupid accents to Matty Rusko.”
We Say: “We’ve watched on with some excitement, especially since Galway’s Race the Flux released their Olympians E.P in May last year. There were comparisons drawn with And So I Watch You From Afar, all searing guitars and interesting rhythms. There’s more of that here with the band’s new single Matty Rusko. It is adventurous and wonderfully disjointed – and maybe a little darker - making for a hugely interesting listen."
The band headline Sweeney’s Dublin on March 23rd and The Crane Lane Theatre, Cork on April 7th. Their debut London show is in The Old Blue Last on 24th March alongside You Break You Buy and TYKE. ‘Matty Rusko’ is out now.
